A Place of
Strength,
Trust,
& Healing
for Those Who Serve
Sworn Refuge provides specialized mental health and substance use treatment for first responders and veterans. Our program is designed by clinicians who understand the realities of service, trauma exposure, and the unique culture of these professions.
The Meaning of Sworn Refuge
The name Sworn Refuge reflects our mission.
Those who swear an oath to protect their communities often carry unseen burdens. Sworn Refuge exists to provide a place where those individuals can step out of the role of protector and receive support themselves. Where they have unrestricted access to the mental health support they deserve—without stigma, without barriers, and without having to explain who they are to be understood.
It is a place of strength, trust, and restoration.
Our Mission
To provide accessible, compassionate, and community-centered behavioral health care to veterans, first responders, and their families—empowering individuals to heal, grow, and thrive together.
We believe that healing is possible when treatment is grounded in clinical expertise, cultural understanding, and trust.
Our goal is to provide care that respects the strength, resilience, and commitment of those who serve while offering the support needed to address trauma, stress, and addiction.
Our Values
Trust and Confidentiality
We recognize that those who have lived and worked in high-stakes environments do not extend trust easily — and we do not ask them to. We earn it, and we protect it without exception.
Service-Informed Care
Our clinicians are trained not only in evidence-based treatment, but in the culture, language, and lived realities of military and first responder service — so that understanding your world is never the first barrier to receiving care.
Clinical Excellence
We are committed to evidence-based, trauma-informed practice delivered by licensed clinicians who hold themselves to rigorous professional and ethical standards — because the people we serve have earned nothing less.
Compassion & inclusivity
We approach every veteran, first responder, and family member — regardless of background, branch, rank, or circumstance — with genuine warmth and unconditional regard, because every person who walks through our doors belongs here without exception.
Integrity
We operate with honesty, transparency, and ethical consistency — in our clinical practice, our business conduct, and every relationship we hold with clients, families, and colleagues.
Community
We believe that healing is fundamentally relational, and that the shared experience of those who have served creates a foundation for connection that is both clinically powerful and irreplaceable.
Our goal is not to create dependence on care, but to build within each client the internal resources, skills, and confidence to move forward — because recovery is not merely the absence of symptoms, but the ongoing development of strength, purpose, and resilience.
Empowerment & growth
Who We Serve
We specialize in working with individuals in service professions: law enforcement officers, firefighters, EMS professionals, dispatchers, corrections officers, active military service members and veterans. We understand the culture of service, the demands of the job, and the importance of trust and confidentiality in treatment.
